A simple way to pick a bracket is by choosing the hometown team. It's an excuse to discuss your hometown multiple times a day. For example:

“How is your bracket doing?” “Oh, my whole family went to the University of Kansas and I’m from Kansas City, so obviously I picked them and they won.”

This method provides opportunities to bring up your hometown during tournaments. Pick your hometown team to win for an excuse to discuss your roots like other college students.
