A Chase Briscoe championship would be good for NASCAR. The Talladega Superspeedway NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday, Oct. 19, went into overtime.
Hendrick Motorsports had cars in the top two spots, with Kyle Larson and William Byron in first and second. However, they were not lined up one behind the other, which is optimal for teammates at Talladega.
When the green flag flew for the final time, Larson's fuel tank was empty, and he dropped to the apron, watching the field go by. Byron was still in good shape, battling for the win.
The problem was that they didn’t end up there.
