Eight men's and eight women's teams are competing for the final spots in the Canadian Curling Trials in Halifax from Nov. 22-30.
A first-place showdown is on tap this afternoon at the Home Hardware Canadian Curling Pre-Trials in Wolfville.
Teams skipped by Scott Howard and Jean-Michel Ménard are tied atop the men’s standings with 3-1 records through seven draws at the McCain Arena on the Acadia University campus.
Both teams won in Draw 6, with Howard doubling Mark Kean’s foursome 6-3 in nine ends and Ménard counting four in the 10th end to beat Jordon McDonald’s rink 9-6.
Five teams are tied for third with 2-2 records, including Halifax’s Owen Purcell, while Kean is 0-4.
