A safari taxi driver, Jean Philistin, was arrested after endangering over a dozen passengers during a reckless and intoxicated drive along Veterans Drive.
According to the Police Department, officers on patrol observed the safari pulling away from a bus stop and colliding with several yellow plastic traffic dividers. The driver failed to stop and continued heading west, weaving within the westbound lane and veering into the eastbound lane.
Officers initiated a traffic stop and suspected that the driver was intoxicated upon approach. Philistin was subsequently arrested.
The driver struck road dividers and swerved across lanes before being stopped by officers.
