Team Brad Jacobs from Calgary started the 2025 United States Steel Pan Continental Curling Championships with a victory.
In the opening round, they defeated China's Team Xiaoming Xu 10-4 at the Iron Trail Motors Event Center in Virginia, Minn.
This is the first time Team Jacobs is wearing the Maple Leaf this season, and they hope it won't be the last.
The team consists of Jacobs, vice-skip Marc Kennedy, second Brett Gallant, lead Ben Hebert, alternate Tyler Tardi, team coach Paul Webster, and national coach Jeff Stoughton.
This win follows their previous meeting with Team Xiaoming Xu in the bronze-medal game at the 2025 BKT World Men's Curling Championship, where they won 11-2.
Team Jacobs fervently hopes it won’t be the last time they wear the Maple Leaf this season.
